Join us for our “Directing: Taking a Narrative Feature from Page to Screen” Workshop with filmmaker Jaclyn Bethany on Thursday June 1st from 6-9 pm at NOVAC.

The scope of taking a script to screen as a Director encompasses its own creative journey -- through script analysis, shot listing/creating the visual language and working with actors. We will touch on these steps as you take your script to screen.

  • This workshop will cover:

  • The different process of working with a writer v. self-facilitated screenplay (for Writer/Directors)

  • Script Analysis for Directors - the initial breakdown process

  • Working with and Choosing a Cinematographer to Bring the Script to Life

  • Casting/Working with Actors to Achieve your Creative Vision

  • Each participant will also be asked to bring a chosen scene from a full-length feature Screenplay (their own or Pre-Existing).
